The Capital Campaign

The Library is Overdue Capital Campaign

The mission of the Rice Lake Public Library is to connect “all people to their community and the world by promoting literacy, providing opportunities for recreation, supporting lifelong learning, and ensuring free and open access to ideas.” Because of the library’s success and the age and condition of the facility, it is overdue for expansion and renovation. To support this effort, the City of Rice Lake has provided $1 million toward the Library’s $1.9 million proposed renovation and expansion. The Friends of the Library has assumed responsibility for raising the remaining funds.

This capital project will improve the efficiency and safety for patrons and staff. The renovations will provide better access for seniors and ensure the building’s compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. It will also feature a new multi-purpose room designed to accommodate the larger crowds that are participating in the various Library programs.

To recognize our many Friends of the Library supporting this Capital Campaign, a Wall of Recognition will be on display at the Library, which will display simulated books that reflect the donor’s level of contribution. All donors who contribute up to $1,000 will be recognized with their names inscribed in the Book of Friends. For donations of $1,000 or more the donor’s name will be inscribed on the binder of a simulated book and placed on the appropriate shelf.

The following is a schedule of donation levels and the related recognition on the Wall of Recognition.
